A call to Tory Bloggers.....

David Cameron made the first moves on Monday towards a more positive, and issue based General Election campaign. You can read about it here.

In this spirit and with the intention of supporting Cameron's campaign, I would like to organise a series of co-ordinated blog posts by 'grassroots' Conservative bloggers. Each could pick one issue or policy area that they feel strongly about, and write a brief post on it. Why it is important? What have Labour got right or wrong on this issue? What would Conservative plans be, or what should they be? But each blogger should decide on how they approach the subject, so long as the blog is in the spirt of postive change, of moving forwards.

This campaign also has broader aims. In the lead up to a General Election, we all need to think about what we expect from a Conservative Government. Are the current policies laid out in the manifesto up to scratch, can they be improved to target certain issues, where should emphasis be laid?

Our party is a broad and inclusive one; let's celebrate that!

Issues will be decided on a first come, first served basis and can be whatever you like: Economy, Environment, Unemployment, Education, Healthcare, Iraq/Afghanistan. Terrorism, Civil Liberties, Crime, Poverty, Immigration, Taxation, Energy, Housing, Drugs, Europe, Elderly Care, Pensions, Local Government, etc etc.

So get in touch if you'd like to get involved! I've already got a few bloggers lined up, and have posibilities about hosting (though am open to ideas of course). Under 800 words would be perfect, and there will be a short introduction to each blog to tie the whole thing together.

Drop me an email on iwanttoemailoxfordspringATgooglemail.com !

We're thinking of launching sometime around Spring Conference (27th February)

-UPDATE- Issues are moving off the table, but there are still plenty more to choose from!

-UPDATE- The policy areas now spoken for are:

Health
Tax
Drinking & Smoking
Immigration
Europe
Education
Civil Liberties
Environment
Terrorism
Foreign Policy
Devolution
Constitutional Reform
Cuts
Family
But we want more.....
